Footnotes on the Butte

Audio tour signage | Shelton McMurphey Johnson House | Eugene, OR

The Shelton McMurphey Johnson House Museum in Eugene, Oregon, created Footnotes on the Butte, an audio tour exploring lesser-known histories of the Skinner Butte neighborhood. Drawing on oral histories, the tour reveals how cultural, social, and environmental forces have shaped this landmark site. The tour is available to the public through the Bloomberg Connects app.

I designed a logo that incorporates the distinctive shape of Skinner Butte and a graphic style that aligns with the established identity of the Shelton McMurphey House, a historic Queen Anne Victorian built in 1888. This approach promotes the tour as a cohesive experience while keeping it visually connected to the museum. Promotional signage and materials in multiple formats offer entry points for a wide range of visitors.
