The wonderful city of Portland, Oregon, has been my home since 2004. Like many other Portlanders, I'm an East Coast transplant. The pace of life here, high percentage of creative minds and fantastic food make it a pretty great place to live.
I grew up in an über-crafty New Jersey household, and have my mom to thank for really encouraging my creative side. My schooling included fine art, architecture and design classes. I always thought I wanted to be an artist until I discovered I didn't like making up my own rules.
Being a designer suits me much better. I get to create something meaningful within someone else's rules. I love the challenge! And I keep my crafty side alive through my own calligraphy, knitting, sewing and quilting projects. When I'm not working you can find me at the farmers market or in the kitchen.
